The  process of animation includes taking a photograph of your objects or characters, moving them slightly, and taking another photograph. When you play back the images consecutively, the objects or characters appear to move on their own.

  Stop motion is used very often and we ee it everyday on our televisions without even realising, it is used in things such as adverts/commercials, feature films, tv programmes and music videos. Stop Motion Animation is a process or technique which is used to make still objects appear as if they are moving, the most common process used is claymation and puppets. When the frames are played in a continuous sequence it creates the illusion of movement. there are many films which use the technique of stop motion such s Wallis and Gromit, Chicken Run and also Paranorman. However within this blog post I will be concentrating on stop motion animation which is the film 'Coraline'. This stop motion animation film is based on a young girl who IMDb explains as

'An adventurous girl who finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets' - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327597/

The stop motion animation was written by Neil Gaiman and Henry Selick who also directed it. The film also stars well known actors and actresses such as Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. It is aimed at children and families and was also nominated for an Oscar award.

when talking about the production of Coraline, Henry Selick stated that,
'It was like a year and a half of pre-production and then 20 months of shooting and then a couple months of post. It was the biggest crew I've ever worked with. What is a learning environment?

 

 

A learning environment is an interactive space, where a set of skills are acquired through multiple sensory experiences. It is a setting where you learn to communicate and socialise with others whilst at the same time stimulating an individuals mind. There are no specific settings in which learining can take place, it is not confined to schools, colleges or university.

A learning environment should be a place where every individual involved feels comfortable being in,in order to recieve a positive education. It is also essential that everyones learning requirements are met.
